A fragile sensual confidence

A square painting in a slim black frame on a white wall. The support is cloth pieced from panels — cream at the upper left, pink across the upper right, white along the bottom — the seams and creases visible. A nude is drawn over it in thin black brush line: a face in outline at the left with a red mark on it, an arm running down to a hand with drawn fingers at the lower left, and the body’s contour sweeping across the lower panel to a raised knee at the right. Across the pink field a mass of black, hot pink and cobalt blue is dragged, spattered and left to run. Signed in red at the lower centre.

Liberated Nude

Sexy thing

Oil pastel on white paper. Sphinx

A reclining nude drawn in a single brown oil-pastel line on pale coffee-coloured paper: a forearm stretched out to the left edge, the upper arm rising behind it to a propped elbow, then a breast, the dip of the waist and the rise of the hip, the line running off at the lower right. Three marks of bright green sit beneath the breast, at the waist and at the hip. The lower half of the sheet is left bare.
